Follow the Yellow Brick Road (or follow these artists instead)

I have compiled a short list of some of the artists I follow on Instagram. These are my top ones, what some may call favorites. They are not in any order, as I like them all. I have included their Instagram handle so you can find them, and hopefully, follow them as well.

I have added some comments with each, either why I follow them, or how I know them.

rhiannahodginart

Rhianna Hodgin | Artist. Rhianna is my wife’s niece. She does painting mostly of farm life. We have one of her works hanging up in our kitchen. She took time off from her artistic side to start a family but has recently started back creating.

sunshinephotoshots

Janice Redden. I recently met Janice at an art show. She is just getting into doing them. She hasn’t posted anything yet, but her macro-photography is outstanding. I bought a piece from her as a gift for my wife. She and her husband are from the Detroit area.

ian_worth

Ian Worth. He is a landscape photographer from the UK. He puts out a weekly YouTube video about photography. He has some great work on his Instagram account and his website.

markdenneyphoto

Mark Denney. Mark is a landscape photographer from North Carolina. He is also a YouTube creator with weekly episodes. He talks about his work, as well as tips on using Lightroom. A great guy to follow even if you do not do landscape photography.

nigel.danson

Nigel Danson. And another UK landscape photographer with a YouTube channel. Again, great work that you should check out.

jens_ochlich

Jens Ochlich. I don’t know anything about Jens other than I love almost all the automotive shots posted on his page. If you love car photography, you have to check him out.

pixbyshep

Tony Shepherd. Tony is a black and white photographer. He captures everyday scenes in such a way that most people would not think of. I like his style and enjoy looking at his work.

trentfoltzphotography

Trent Foltz. His style is similar to mine in some ways, as is his subject matter. He shoots mostly rural scenes. His work can be seen in both color and black and white.

Some of these artists follow each other, and some of them follow me. As I tell aspiring photographers, one of the best ways to learn the art is to follow other photographers. Learn from them, use their ideas, borrow their styles until you develop your own.

I hope this short list inspires you to follow some, if not all, these artists.
