Art and Passion

Does your art move you? Was it created to evoke emotions? Then you are making art with passion.

Passion is a strong emotion. It can also be an object of someone’s love, like art.

I am the first to admit I do not use passion often when I am photographing the things I love. However, when I edit, the passion for my work comes through a lot more.

When an edit makes me go “Wow,” I know I have hit the nail on the head. My passion for that shot becomes very apparent. With painters, I would think a certain combination of colors or brush strokes do the same for them. A musician, when stringing together notes and chords, create a beautifully sounding piece, his or her passion shines through.

Am I passionate about my art? You bet! I get worked up over some pieces more than others, but I think we are all like that. When I talk about my work to a customer or other artist, I can get very animated. That is passion. We should always embrace it with our work.

What are you passionate about?
